Wadi Al Disah, in the Tabuk region of north-western Saudi Arabia, cuts between towering sandstone pillars that rise sharply from a valley floor of palms, streams and grazing land.
Springs keep parts of the wadi green year-round, an unexpected contrast with the desert plateau above, and Nabataean-era carvings survive on some of the rock faces.
It remains far less visited than AlUla, and is best explored on foot or by four-wheel drive along the valley floor.
