Jeddah

Gateway to the Red Sea

For centuries, Jeddah has served as an important Red Sea port and gateway for pilgrims traveling toward Makkah.

Its historic district, Al-Balad, preserves traditional multi-story houses famous for their distinctive wooden rawasheen balconies, narrow streets, old markets and architecture shaped by Jeddah's long history as an international trading city.

Modern Jeddah stretches along the Red Sea coast, where the Corniche, waterfront parks, public art, restaurants and contemporary neighborhoods give the city a distinctly maritime character.

The surrounding Red Sea also provides opportunities for diving, boating and exploring coral ecosystems, making Jeddah both a cultural destination and a gateway to Saudi Arabia's western coastline.
