The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and among the most recognisable buildings in the Gulf. Its white marble, reflective pools, courtyards and eighty-two domes create a landmark visible across Abu Dhabi.
Inside, one of the world's largest hand-knotted carpets covers the main prayer hall, and chandeliers, floral marble inlay and calligraphy bring together craft traditions from across the Islamic world.
The mosque welcomes visitors of all backgrounds and has become a centre for cultural exchange as well as worship.
