Aswan

Nubian Heritage and River Beauty

Aswan is one of Egypt's most scenic Nile cities, known for granite islands, palms, rocky riverbanks, feluccas, and a relaxed southern atmosphere. Nearby Philae Temple, relocated to Agilkia Island, is among the region's most celebrated archaeological landmarks.

The city is also an important gateway to Nubian culture and to journeys farther south toward Abu Simbel. Markets, villages, museums, river excursions, and the surrounding desert landscape give Aswan a character distinct from Cairo and Luxor.
